The Scholarship Winners…
In addition to being and authority on hockey, Gene Hart was also an ardent support of the arts, partcularly opera. In fact, Gene would occasionally serve as a guest lecturer before performances of the Opera Company of Philadelphia. This duality is reflected in the Gene Hart Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was established by the Hart family in 2000 and is awarded each year to an acaademically worthy student with financial need in either Temple University's School of Communications and Theater majoring in Broadcast Journalism, or the Boyer College of Music and Dance majoring in Voice and or Opera.
